How do I read my LES?
Your Leave & Earnings Statement packs entitlements, deductions, allotments, and your leave balance into dense codes. LES Unravel reads a PDF you upload and explains each line — what it is, why it's there, and what affects it — without the jargon.
What do LES line codes like FITW, SGLI, and BAS mean?
FITW is your federal income tax withholding, SGLI is your servicemembers' group life insurance premium, and BAS is your food allowance. Plain-English pages for each code are on the way — in the meantime, see them on your own LES.
How does my pay change between duty stations?
Your Basic Allowance for Housing — and your real cost of living — can shift a lot from one duty station to the next, driven by ZIP, pay grade, and dependents. A Duty Station Comparison Tool is in development to put two locations side by side so you can see what your pay actually covers in each.
